Groceries, hygiene and baby supplies, cleaning products, and household basics — open four afternoons a week to anyone who needs them.

Groceries are the front door, not the whole house. Alongside food we hand out hygiene and baby supplies, cleaning products, bedding and kitchen basics for people starting over, and camping gear for neighbors sleeping outside. What we have depends on what the community brought in that week. There is no paperwork and no means test — if you need something, come ask.

When we get a good donation of clothing in, we put it straight back out into the community. These are announced in the Facebook group, usually only a day or two ahead, so that’s the place to be watching.

Toys and clothes for local kids, so every child in Greene County has something to open Christmas morning.

The program our Elves & Angels chapter is named for. We give out both toys and clothing — a warm coat matters as much as the toy does. Families sign up in the fall, the community donates through December, and we sort, wrap, and distribute before Christmas. Sign-up dates are posted in the Facebook group.

Backpacks, supplies, clothes, and shoes for students heading back to school.

Every summer we fill backpacks with the supplies on the local school lists and get them to kids before the first bell. We also set out children’s clothing and shoes — new and gently used — and keep refilling the tables as long as the donations hold out. Classrooms run short on tissues, paper towels, and antibacterial wipes all year, so those are always welcome too.

Easter baskets delivered to elderly neighbors in the Greeneville area.

A lot of our older neighbors spend the holiday alone. Every spring we put together baskets and get them delivered — sometimes the visit matters more than the basket.
